21 people have died on Edmonton roads this year – excessive speed is a factor in a more than half the deaths.

Fines. Suspensions. Charges.

· Fines starting at $587 for Traffic Safety Act violations like stunting.

· Driver’s license suspensions.

· Criminal Code charges for dangerous driving can lead to a criminal record.

So far this year Edmonton Police have issued:

· 133 charges for dangerous operation

· 76 tickets for stunting

· More than 200 violations for excessive speeding of more than 50km/h above the limit.
